Rajasthan Man Wins ₹11 Crore in Punjab Diwali Bumper Lottery

In a heartwarming story this Diwali, Amit Sehara, a resident of Kotputli village in Jaipur district, Rajasthan, turned into an overnight crorepati after winning a massive ₹11 crore in the Punjab Government’s Diwali Bumper Lottery.

The twist? He bought the ticket after borrowing ₹1,000 from a friend — and his life changed forever.

“I can’t express my happiness. All my grief and sorrows have vanished today,” said Amit, describing himself as a devotee of Lord Hanuman.

A Lucky Trip to Punjab

Amit and his friend had travelled to Moga in Punjab, where he decided to buy two lottery tickets — one for himself and one for his wife.

While his wife’s ticket won a small ₹1,000 prize, Amit’s own ticket turned out to be the jackpot winner worth ₹11 crore.

“My wife’s ticket won ₹1,000, and mine won ₹11 crore,” he said with a smile.

The ticket was purchased from Bathinda, and Amit has now officially submitted the claim form for verification.

His Plans for the Winnings

Instead of splurging, Amit plans to use the windfall with compassion and responsibility. He revealed that a large part of the money will go towards his children’s education and building a new home.

But what truly stands out is his promise to help his friend’s family — the same friend who lent him the ₹1,000 for the ticket.

“I have lost my mother, so I understand the pain of daughters. I will give ₹50 lakh each to my friend’s two daughters. The rest will go towards my children’s education and building a house,” he shared.

Official Confirmation from Punjab Lottery

A representative from the Punjab lottery agency confirmed Amit’s big win.

“Today, the winner of the ₹11 crore Diwali Bumper, Amit Sehara, came to our office to submit the claim form. Once verified, the amount will be transferred to his bank account,” the official said.

The agency also clarified that winners are not required to pay any fee to claim their prize.

“Winners simply need to provide their bank details, address, and the original ticket. The Punjab government directly processes the payment,” the spokesperson added.
