3/4 channe ki daal – washed & soaked for 30 min
1/2 small (200 gm) giya (bottle ground) – peeled & chopped
1tsp salt, 1/2 haldi (turmeric )
1/2 tbsp red chilli powder, 2 tsp desi gheeor oil
Tomato- oinion baghar
3 tbsp oil, 1 tbsp cumin seed,
1 onion – finely sliced, 1 tomato – chopped
2 tbsp chopped coriander, 2 green chilles
1 tbsp dhania powder
1/2 tbsp garam masala, 1/2 tsp amchoor,
1/2 red chilli powder.
1. Take soaked dal and drain water. Mix dal, giya, salt, haldi, desi ghee, red chilli and 2 cups of water in adeep bowl. Microwave covered for 6 min.
2. Stir once inbetween. Remove cover and microwave for 20 min. or till dal turns soft. Mash lightly. Cover and keep aside.
3. For the baghar, mix oil with jerra in a microproof dish. Microwave for 2 min. Add onions and microwave for 4 min. till golden.
4. Add tomato, coriander and whole green chilles and all the masalas. Microwave for 3 min. Pour over the hot cooked dal and mix it.
